This session will offer a definition of cultural diplomacy, a historic overview of U.S. cultural diplomacy initiatives, and lesson learned from 15+ years as a U.S. State Department Arts Envoy. In addition, readings on the topic of cultural diplomacy will be offered, as well as a foreign policy perspective on the importance of cultural diplomacy in preventing security threats.
